Melissa Robbins, MS, LCDC, MAC, CCTP
Lead Counselor for the First Responders Track
Melissa started in the treatment field as a detox medic in 1995 and from there my passion grew. She has held many roles: detox medic, detox program director, adolescent assistant program director, counselor, opiate tract designer and now counselor IV with the Liberty Program at Starlite. She has a Master’s Degree in Human Services with Counseling Specialty, a graduate certificate in Addictions Counseling and a graduate certificate in Contemporary Mental Health Counseling. She holds a Master Addictions Counselor certification with NAADAC as well as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and also a practitioner of EMDR. Prior to her transition into the treatment field, she spent 12 years in the fire service as a medic and firefighter.
“Unfortunately, I have a mass casualty incident that caused the loss of 10 children in a flood that taught me all about PTSD and the lengths one would go to medicate PTSD”, said Melissa
“I believe strongly that the therapeutic bond is the best indicator of a client’s success. Maya Angelou said that people will never remember what you said to them but they will always remember how you made them feel. I am passionate about believing in my clients until they can believe in themselves.”
