Starlite Recovery Center Institutes Program-Wide Enhancements to Build on 30-Year Legacy as a Premier Addiction Treatment Provider

Starlite Recovery Center is getting a face lift, from newly renovated rooms and holistic addiction treatments like yoga to additional medically managed detoxification including Vivitrol and Suboxone detox/maintenance services.

In an effort to build upon its legacy and provide even more advanced addiction treatment services to its patients, the center recently instituted a series of program-wide enhancements.

“Building on the strong foundation that Starlite has established in the recovery community over the past 30 years, we have made significant improvements to the quality of care of clients, their families and their referral sources,” said Amy Swetnam, the executive director at Starlite Recovery Center. “We’ve begun by giving the facility and grounds a face lift, enhancing programming, and recruiting talented, qualified and diverse staff to meet the various needs of our clients and their families.”

As a CARF accredited chemical dependency rehab and dual diagnosis program with a strong reputation for clinical excellence, Starlite has been successful in helping insured clients get the length of time they need in treatment at almost twice the normal duration of many other programs that directly bill insurance companies.

As part of Starlite’s holistic approach to addiction recovery, patients may now take yoga classes from a yoga instructor once a week, as well as massage therapy and other adjunctive therapies. Patients may also meet with a certified personal trainer who creates an individualized fitness program, and exercise in the center’s fully equipped gym or swimming pool.

The setting at Starlite Recovery Center is even more conducive to healing and recovery than ever. The facility sits on 55 acres in the beautiful hill country of Texas and is revitalizing its putting green and offers a wide range of other sober activities such as basketball, Frisbee golf, weekly cookouts, nature walks and movies under the stars. The caring admissions team is available 24 hours a day and is able to assist with transportation to the center as well as other needs.

Starlite offers specialized treatment for opiate detoxification, as well as, treatment of impaired professionals with a particular expertise in treating safety sensitive occupation populations such as Pilots, Doctors and Nurses. The chemical dependency program also treats adolescent males ages of 13 to 17 who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

Starlite recently expanded its medically managed detoxification to include Suboxone detox and maintenance services. In addition, the medical team is able to utilize Vivitrol as an aid to recovery for clients who have a history of chronic alcohol relapse and opiate addiction (if appropriate as determined by the patient’s chemical dependency history).

These services are provided under the direction of Terry Parvin, MD, one of the foremost experienced certified addictionologists in the country. Dr. Parvin has worked in hospitals, family medicine and drug rehab centers for over 30 years and has shared his expertise with patients at Starlite since 1987.
